My First Concert
I have just read an article that I thought was somewhat amusing. It turns out that the New Kids on the Block are re-uniting for a concert to celebrate the 2oth anniversary of their album Hangin’ Tough. Now normally this would be of no interest to me but my first concert was the New Kids on the Block. My sister was a HUGE NKOTB fan and she got tickets to the concert for her birthday, and we all went. I vaguely remember it because I was fairly young, but yeah I was there. I cannot over-emphasize the influence NKOTB has had on me as a person and a musician….right. Anyway if you are stoked about this check out the article. NKOTB Let me know what your first concert was. Or your best concert.
first . . . .weird al best . . . . . .creation fest i liked Emery last time
Geoff Moore & the Distance–Evolution tour @ George Fox University. Whoohoo!
I like Emery too, I haven’t seen them in concert but i dig their music. Now, Geoffe Moore, you don’t hear that name around much anymore.
Best concert for me; DC*B w/ The Myriad. Also, Steppenwolf with my dad.
i juts got tix to ff5 wooooo and were probably going to go see weird al for old time sake lol
I am almost ashamed to say that my first concert was Leon Patillo. You might be saying, who? That’s right…Mr. No-name Christian singer from the early 80’s…he was the real deal…big hair, white suits, funky music…it was the height of coolness. And by the way, since we’re on how “cool” I am today, I also loved NKOTB…they were fantastic, and I was totally in love with Joey. I did not, however, have the “action figures” (aka dolls) or sheets, but my best friend did! Never made it to a concert, though!
My first concert was either the Beach Boys or the Gaithers (Bill and Gloria were there, along with Gary McSpadden–all Christian artists), both of which my parents took me to. I enjoyed both, but I was still quite young. I do really remember the Beach Boys one, since it was just my dad and me. Singing along with all those old songs, that he had me listen to since I was born.
I’m not a big concert-goer. I prefer the songs the way they recorded it, and not so many people around me.
I’ve only been to a handful of concerts, Harvest (Christian group from the 80’s), Carmen (another Christian artist), the Hoppers (Southern Gospel), and Neal McCoy (country). There may have been others, but my memory is hazy.
I was working at Six Flags Over Texas when they had a Salt ‘n’ Pepa concert, and after it was over, someone let off firecrackers in the crowd, and I feared I was going to be trampled.
FF5 was amazing last night! just had to say
